No ease of Doing business in Jammu Kashmir as MSMEs continue to face problem of power sanction

New Delhi, Feb 8 (KNN) Despite the government campaigning to increase the Ease of doing Business (EODB) in the country, the Micro Smala and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Jammu and Kashmir have raised that the EODB document is yet to be adopted in the state.

MSME Body, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), said that the industries in Jammu Kashmir are suffering due to the non implementation of Ease of Doing Business concept by the Power Development Department.

“The industries are not able to get the sanction for power loads in time, because of which the entire production chain is getting affected”, BBIA said.

Also in case of seeking permission for the Installation of DG Sets and other related matters, the MSME have to wait for long.

The Power Development Commissioner is not at all adhering the guidelines of the Govt. Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which a regular monthly meeting shall be held to clear the pending Power Connection cases where as the meeting shall always be held at the sweet will of the Development Commissioner Power and the unnecessary objections always raised to delay the issue of Power Connections to the needy industrial units who are suffering very badly due to  non release of Power Connections in time resulting delay in the start of Commercial Production due to which they suffered huge Financial Losses and the interest being paid on the amount borrowed from the Financial Institutes.

Moreover even after the approval of the cases by the Designated Committee, the cases sent to the Administrative Department for approval whereas no such guidelines issued by the Department as per the Govt. Order No. 152-PDD of 2011 resulting delay in the sanction of Power Load as the cases cleared on PICK and CHOOSE basis at the sweet will of the concerned Officials, BBIA raised.

The association has written to the Jammu Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti raising the concerns and is demanding an action along the line, BBIA said. (KNN/DA)
