North East fin corpn to use IT for loan disbursement

Dispur, Feb 26 (KNN)  The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) is implementing IT solutions for improving loan disbursements to entrepreneurs in the North East and improve its own efficiency.

NEDFi’s IT project would involve the development and implementation of a customised loan management system (LMS) and finance and accounting management system (FAMS), including supply and implementation of related hardware and networking infrastructure.

In this regard, the corporation seeks bids from software development firms, consortium of IT firms for implementation of the project.

NEDFI provides financial assistance to micro, small, medium and large enterprises for setting up industrial infrastructure and agri-allied projects in the north eastern region.  It also provides microfinance through MFI/NGOs.

The corporation offers consultancy and advisory services to the state governments, private sectors and other agencies.  It conducts sector or state specific studies under its techno-economic development fund (TEDF) and is the designated nodal agency for disbursal of Government of India incentives to the industries in the North East under the North-East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy 2007 (NEIIPP 2007).

Its promotional activities include water hyacinth craft initiatives, designer candle making, handloom and handicraft, skill development and capacity building through effective mentoring. 

NEDFi is a public limited company registered as an NBFC with RBI.  It is promoted by IDBI, SBI, LICI, SIDBI, ICICI, IFCI, UTI, GIC and its subsidiaries with authorised share capital of Rs 500 crore and annual turnover of more than Rs 100 crore.   (KNN/ES)
