NSFDC provides 200 sewing machines to women artisans in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Feb 17 (KNN) The National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) distributed motorized sewing machines in the form of toolkits to 200 SC women artisans engaged in hand embroidery at Gadra Road (Barmer) and Poogal (Bikaner), Rajasthan.

This initiative was undertaken under an MoU signed with DC (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. 

CMD of NSFDC was chairing the event, and officials of the state government, NABARD and DC (Handicrafts), HSC, Jodhpur were also present.

Inculcating self reliance and empowerment was the core objective of this initiative along with generating additional income earned through the sewing machines.

It also aims at help women in the rural area become financially independent while promoting entrepreneurship and craftsmanship. 

The sponsorship of this programme was done by the central government under the" Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav" celebration. (KNN Bureau)
