Odisha govt partners with AMHSSC to impart skill development training
Bhubaneswar, June 18 (KNN) To carry forward the Odisha government’s commitment to the promotion of entrepreneurship among women, the state government signed a pact with Apparel Made-ups & Home Furnishing sector skill council (AMHSSC) on Friday.
The initiative, titled “Skill-based training of Mission Shakti Women Self Help Group Members as sewing Machine Operators”, aims at the skill development of 10,000 SHG members in apparel manufacturing.
It will provide self-employment opportunities across the state and create micro-enterprises in the local apparel industry through Mission Shakti.
The project will be executed over the course of 18 months.
This initiative will enhance the abilities of SHG members with basic tailoring skills to a higher level of tailoring, thus increasing their market employability.
After the training, AMSSC will assist the SHG members in establishing their tailoring units. AMHSSC will also facilitate industry partnerships with the apparel sector. (KNN Bureau)
