Odisha Govt to help MSMEs facing financial stress due to pandemic: CM Patnaik

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23 (KNN) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that the state government is committed to development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Speaking on the occasion of launching 11 types of services online in five programmes for the benefit of MSME entrepreneurs on Saturday, he said, ‘‘These units are the basis for development of the economy and providing employment to more people''.

''The MSMEs in the state are going through a very difficult financial situation and the state government would take steps to help them,'' the Chief Minister said.

He said that despite the pandemic, Odisha has managed to attract investments worth Rs 1, 17,000 crore in the last 10 months.

“It has created jobs for more than 53,000 young people,” he added.

Reportedly, the 11 online services launched by the Department of Atomic, Small and Medium Industries under the 5-T charter are micro, small business registration certificates for export promotion and marketing, price certificate certificates, laboratory standards. Export promotion assistance, certificate renewal for micro, small enterprises, pre-supply and post-supply inspection services, recommendations for Khadi and Village Industries Board certification, subsidies to khadi industries by the Khadi & Village Industries Board, supply of goods to various departments by the Odisha Small Industries Corporation through business organisations, non-arrears certificates issued by the Odisha State Financial Corporation.

All of these services will be available at odishamsme.nic.in. Entrepreneurs can avail various government services and opportunities online at their convenience without coming to Government offices.
