Bhubaneswar, Aug 10 (KNN) The state government of Odisha is organising an International Trade Fair to cater to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) from January 1 to 7, 2014.

The trade fair would provide a platform for MSMEs to showcase their capabilities while exploring new markets and learning new technologies.

Most of all, it would exhibit the capabilities and export potential of Indian MSMEs, enabling them to forge closer linkages and pave the way for networking amongst them through exchange and sharing of experience.

The exhibition would showcase different segments such as light engineering, mechanical products, electronics, packaging, food processing, handicrafts, information technology, machine tools, general products, etc.

About 200 small businesses from various states of India participated in the first trade fair organised last year. The buyer-seller meet highlighted the benefits of the policy of 20 per cent purchase from MSMEs.

Last year’s trade fair was initiated by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and the newly created MSME department of the state.  (GUNJ/KNN)
