Odisha to rope in pvt sector for skill development programme

Bhubaneshwar, May 20 (KNN)  In an effort to generate employment in the state, the Odisha government is planning to impart training on market linked skill development through the private sector.

Odisha State Employment Mission Society (OSEMS), an undertaking of the Department of Employment and Technical Education and Training wants to facilitate efficient delivery of market led training programs and skill development of youth, making them employable in the process.

The mission society is seeking partnership from eligible private sector programme implementing agencies in identified Modular Employable Skills (MES) courses for conducting the proposed programme.

The selected training partners will carry out certain activities like assessment, counselling, training, certification and placement of the unemployed youth from the state.

It will have responsibility for establishing placement tie-ups for placements in reputed industries, structuring the required training inputs including training material, content and curriculum, training infrastructure, assessment methodology, placement etc.

OSEMS has a mission to consult and assist in the development and advancement of technical education and vocational training in Odisha in a financially self-sustaining manner. (KNN/ST)
