Odisha CM Calls For Stronger Cargo Facilities To Boost MSME Exports & Imports
Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (KNN) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday underscored the need to strengthen cargo facilities by sea and air to boost exports and imports in the state’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
Reviewing various departmental programmes, he directed officials to focus on increasing bank credit flow to MSMEs and simplifying loan disbursement processes through regular monitoring, according to TOI.
Majhi described the MSME sector as a key driver of employment and economic potential, noting that the government is providing support for the establishment of enterprises.
To draw more young entrepreneurs, he urged the department to conduct extensive awareness campaigns. He also said MSME parks are being planned across all districts to accelerate growth.
According to an official statement from the CM’s office, the meeting also reviewed measures to expand the reach of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and promote cluster-based projects.
The state currently has over 11 lakh registered MSMEs employing more than 87 lakh people.
The chief minister further advised officials to support ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in setting up enterprises under the MSME framework.
He stressed the importance of promoting locally manufactured products by ensuring their use in government offices, schools and colleges.
