Odisha, Feb 20 (KNN) Welspun, a leading textile player headquartered in Gujarat, has unveiled plans for its inaugural expansion beyond the state borders, setting its sights on Odisha. 

The company, renowned for its manufacturing prowess with facilities in Vapi and Anjar in Kutch, has committed a staggering Rs 3,050 crore towards establishing an integrated textile manufacturing facility and warehousing complex in Choudwar, Odisha.

This landmark decision underscores Welspun's strategic shift in investment focus, drawing praise from the Odisha government for its potential to usher in a wave of textile industry migration from Gujarat to states offering more favourable business environments.

The foundation stone laying ceremony, graced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, symbolises Odisha's proactive approach in attracting textile investments and fostering economic growth. 

With this ambitious venture, Welspun embarks on its maiden voyage into textile manufacturing outside Gujarat, signalling a transformative shift in India's textile industry landscape. 

Industry insiders foresee this move as a harbinger of evolving dynamics within the sector, poised to reshape regional industrial ecosystems.
