‘One Station One Product’ booths open at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack railway stations

Bhubaneswar, June 24 (KNN) Under the Government’s ‘One Station One Product’ scheme, the Khurda Road division has launched two stalls at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Railway stations.

These stalls have been setup by the local Self Help groups in coordination with the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS).

Rinkesh Roy, the Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road urged the passengers to take the advantage of the stalls and have a glimpse of local products available at Railway stations.

While the Bhubaneswar Railway station stall will display Khurda District’s famous ‘Bell Metal Products’, the Cuttack station will exhibit ‘Silver Filigree Handicrafts and Handloom products.’

The ‘One Station- One Product’ scheme was announced by the Government of India in the recent budget with an objective to provide enhanced livelihood and welfare of the local artisans, potters, Weavers/Handloom weavers, tribals etc.

Under this scheme, stalls are being provided at Railway stations to the local artisans to showcase and sell the famous local products, pertaining to that particular area.

The scheme aims to make the Railway stations a promotional hub and showcase destination for the local products, thereby giving a major boost to local industries. (KNN Bureau)
