Pak delegation meets Karnataka SME bodies

Bengaluru, Mar 21 (KNN)  A seminar on trade opportunities between India and Pakistan is being held here today.  The meeting is in continuation of the dialogue with trade delegation from the neighbouring country that began in the national capital on Wednesday.
 
With a view to promoting trade between the two countries a series of events have been organized from March-18 to 23rd; hosted by FISME and German Development Agency, GIZ.
 
Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) has organized the seminar today to provide an opportunity for state SME bodies and entrepreneurs to meet and interact with the 16 member multi sector business delegation.
 
The delegation comprises of senior members from Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Karachi Chambers of Commerce, Lahore Chambers of Commerce, Islamabad Chambers of Commerce, Islamabad Women Chambers of Commerce, All Pakistan Furniture Makers Association etc.
 
Sectors being represented by the visiting delegation are auto parts, yarn, textiles, chemicals, CNG, insulating material, furniture, household appliances, hosiery, electrical goods, electronic appliances, ladies shoes, purses, handicrafts, batteries, etc.
 
Earlier the delegation met with industry bodies in the national capital.  Issues and impediments such as visa regulations, border restrictions, mobile roaming, inspection procedures, and lack of banking facilities, among others, that prevented growth of trade between the two countries were discussed at length.  (KNN/ES)
