Dehradun, June 20 (KNN) The Government of Uttarakhand has plans to develop commercial hub at integrated industrial estate (IIE) at Selaqui which is 25 kms away from the state capital.

In this context, the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation (SIIDCL) has invited bids from the developers to implement the project.

The commercial hub will house all non-industrial components on the region including organised retail space, office spaces, leisure, and urban plaza.

The objective of this project is to provide commercial space and leisure activities for this region.

The commercial hub will further promote tourism in the state with more retail and wholesale outlets, restaurants, parks and sports zones.

This project “Commercial Hub” is envisaged to become the central business district of Pharma city.

Earlier, it was only formulated to serve the population of IIE however due to the absence of any other organised space it may also cater to the population of Selaqui.

The entire basic infrastructure like roads, water, electricity etc. is already in place to get the project going from day one.

SIIDCUL, a Government of Uttarakhand Enterprise, was incorporated to promote Industrial development in the State, provide financial assistance to promote industries and develop industrial infrastructure in the state directly or through special purpose vehicles, joint ventures, assisted companies etc.

Besides the State Government, SIIDCUL has equity participation from UBI, OBC and SIDBI. Other banks are also in the process of participating in its equity. (KNN)
