PHD chamber urges J&K govt to invite associations before formulating budget-policy

New Delhi, Mar 26 (KNN) Voicing the disappointment over government decision for not inviting the chamber in official meeting of budget implementation, Kashmir chapter of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed the chief minister, finance minister and industries minister.

The PHD Chamber said that the chamber and other stakeholders are upset that they have not been called for the meeting held by the government for the implementation of the budget announcements on MSMEs, handicraft and textile sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

The chamber in a statement said that it is from the report that meeting chaired by the Commissioner Secretary of the Industries Department did not involve participation of stakeholders of different sectors while formulating decisions.

Further it has been mentioned in the statement that the draft report of the government-trade working group on revival of the carpet industry and the proposal submitted by the joint director Handicrafts, Kashmir has not been considered.

In this regard the PHD chamber urged the ministers for holding a joint meeting of the finance, industries departments and the ‘stakeholders’ with the recommendations for the self sustained development of MSMEs, handicraft and textile sectors of J&K with reference to the budget announcements of 2018-19.
