PM Modi to inaugurate 150 ITIs upgraded as Technology Hubs in Bengaluru on June 20

Bengaluru, June 15 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Karnataka on June 20 will inaugurate 150 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), which have been upgraded as 'Technology Hubs'.

The ITIs have been developed by the state government in association with the Tata Technologies and 20 other industry partners.

These Institutes aim at providing training, employment and entrepreneurship to over one lakh individuals every year through short- and long-term courses.

The total cost of the ITIs estimates at Rs 4,636 crore, with Tata and other industry partners pitching in Rs 4,080 crore and the state government spending around Rs 600 crore.

C N Ashwath Narayan, Higher Education and Skill Development Minister said, "Innovative courseware, as per the industry requirement has been developed and future best facilities are provided at these institutes.”

“This is mainly to ensure that trained and certified ITI graduates who are industry-ready for deployment within the smart manufacturing industry with higher salary packages”, he added.

PM Modi will also be inaugurating the new campus of the Bengaluru Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) during his visit to the state.  (KNN Bureau)
