PMEGP Exhibition aims to provide marketing support to MSMEs: Kalraj Mishra

Lucknow, Nov 16 (KNN) Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra, while inaugurating the PMEGP Zonal Exhibition here on Sunday, said the purpose of the exhibition is to promote and provide marketing platform to the products manufactured by the entrepreneurs from states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc.
 
After inaugurating the PMEGP Zonal Exhibition and paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Mishra visited every stall in the exhibition and met exhibitionists.
“Purpose of 10 days PMEGP Zonal exhibition is to promote and provide marketing platform to the products manufactured by entrepreneurs of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and more,” he said.
 
“As per PMEGP guidelines earlier 50 stalls erected but to promote more entrepreneurs 100 stalls erected, making the exhibition more gracious and meaningful,” he said.
 
PMEGP scheme is flagship scheme of Government of India which is implemented in UP State by 3 agencies DIC (40%), UPKVIB (30%) & KVIC (30%) from 2008-09.
 
“From 2008-15, 30,581 micro enterprises have been established and employment has been provided to about 3 lakh persons. Government has spent Rs 903 crore as subsidy in UP under PMEGP scheme,” Mishra wrote on the micro blogging site twitter.
 
In the year 2015-16, Government of India has released Rs.143 crores as subsidy to establish 6,667 units and to generate 54, 000 employment opportunities under PMEGP, Mishra informed. (KNN Bureau)
