Prohibition on carrying tannery raw material in Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 18 (KNN)  No person can carry raw material / hides / blue wet required for running tanneries in certain areas of Kolkata city, as per the order passed by the Commissioner of Police.
 
The order is effective from 14.03.2014 to 12.05.2014 for a period of 60 days until further order.
 
Failure to follow the order can lead to trouble with punishment including imprisonment for a term which can extend to one month or with fine which may extend to Rs 200 or both.
 
“The Officer-in-Charge of the concerned Police Station should be vigilant to check the inflows of such prohibited materials under the jurisdiction of the Police Station and if it is noticed that the inflows of such prohibited materials are still maintaining despite such order, the prohibited materials are to be seized and disposed of as per norms. The Tannery Associated will be the received of such materials under order,” the state government notification said. 
 
The areas where the prohibition is effective are:
 
North From X’ing of Gobinda Khatik Road and D. C. Dey Road, D.C.Dey Road to
Canal South Road to Pagladanga Road upto X’ing of E.M.Bye Pass.
East From X’ing of Mathur Babu Lane & Pagladanga Road to D.C.Dey Road, D.C.
Dey Road to South Tangra Road to upto X’ing of Gobinda Khatik Road,
Topsia Road South to Topsia Road East to Kustia Road.
South Kustia Road, Maszid Bari Lane and Tiljala Road, Shibtala Road.
West Tiljala Road to Eastern Slope to 4 No. Bridge, Park Circus Connector, Tiljala
Road, Mahendra Roy Lane, Mahendra Chatterjee Lane, Gobra Gorasthan
Road, Christopher Road upto X’ing of Gobinda Khatik Road, Gobinda Khatik
Road upto X’ing of D.C. Dey Road.   (KNN/ES)
