New Delhi, Jun 5 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial  Development Corporation (UPSIDC) is taking a series of measures to promote industrialisation, fulfilling the long standing demand of the people through promoting leather clusters and developing a plastic city in the state among other projects.

The plastic city is planned to be developed as an industrial and residential township in Auraiya consisting of market, bank, schools, hostels and parks.

Plans are on anvil to make the city world class with facilities like skill development centre, tool room, treatment plant, container depot and warehouses. The government has also earmarked land for the project.

In another significant development Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has given a green signal to two mega leather clusters which will be completed by UPSIDC.  The project is expected to bring in an investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

While one of the leather parks will come up in Hardoi district on a 150-acre land, the other will be developed in Ramaipur area of Kanpur district on land measuring 625 acres.
The park that is being built will be equipped with world class infrastructure and meet the standards of exports.

Many MSMEs which form the backbone of the Indian economy will certainly benefit from the infrastructure development.

The project to be built at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore will provide employment to 10, 000 workers, following environment friendly principles with effluent treatment system and rain water harvesting.

Apart from this, the Government of India has also entered into an agreement with Japan to develop the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor which will increase railway freight, and loading and uploading process of ports and air cargo.  (KNN)
