Proposed Haryana Textile Policy to focus on MSMEs to boost employment

Chandigarh, July 27 (KNN) The New Textile Policy which aims to provide employment to around 20,000 youngsters will soon be placed before the Cabinet for approval, Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala said on Tuesday.

Under the new policy, the state government will aim to promote textile industry through MSMEs and work to encourage and expand technical textiles in the state,” he said.

During a meeting with the cabinet sub-committee that is responsible for drawing the proposed policy, the deputy CM discussed the state vision of entrepreneurship expansion, investment, employment generation and grants.

The textile policy, which will remain in force till 2025 aims to attract investments worth Rs 4,000 crore to the state. The state also aims to setup a textile parks, and the national technical textiles mission.

Agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Jai Prakash Dalal, labour and employment minister Anoop Dhanak, additional chief secretary (finance and planning) TVSN Prasad, principal secretary (industries and commerce) Vijayendra Kumar, and micro, small and medium enterprises department director general Amneet P Kumar, were among those present at the meeting. (KNN Bureau)
