Puducherry govt eyes investment in bio-pharma through new park project

Puducherry, Oct 15 (KNN) The Puchucherry government is planning to set up a bio-pharma park to attract more investments. 

This was informed by Industries Secretary P. Jawahar on Friday at a MSME business summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), reported The Hindu 

He said the Drugs Control team under the Health Department was in the process of preparing a detailed project report to establish a bio-pharma park.

The establishment of the park was part of the process to attract more investments. 

The land previously acquired to set up a Special Economic Zone at Sedarapet will be utilised for the park. 

“The establishment of the park is linked to the proper utilisation of the land acquired for SEZ. We are expecting clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs to utilise the land for industrial activity very soon,” he said.

He said the MSME sector was the backbone of Puducherry’s economy as it was one of the largest employers.  (KNN Bureau)
