Puducherry to be a manufacturing hub

Puducherry, Sept 26 (KNN) The government of the Union Territory of Puducherry is taking various steps to make the region a manufacturing and knowledge hub.
This was stated by Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government (Industries and Commerce) T M Balakrishnan recently according to a report by The Hindu.
In this regard, the government has announced a number of initiatives for the Information Technology sector and some of them have been incorporated in the Industrial policy, Balakrishnan said speaking at a CII event.
Further, he said the government hoped to get another Rs.100 crore from the Central government which would support Rs 1,100 crore of businesses in the MSME sector, the media report said. (KNN Bureau)
