Punjab Communications seeks private firms for energy requirements

Chandigarh, Apr 3 (KNN) Punjab Communications Limited (Puncom) is seeking to rope in private solar firms for meeting its energy requirements.

The leading telecom and IT equipment manufacturer and solution provider wants to purchase solar panel and associated accessories or equipment for business cooperation.

In this context, the corporation has invited bids from RDSO/MNRE approved original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of solar panel or photovoltaic module.

Puncom is concentrating mainly in the domestic telecom market and is supplying telecom equipment and services to various prestigious customers such as BSNL, Indian Railways, state electricity boards, VSNL, ONGC, GAIL, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and a host of other public and private sector undertakings.

To service its telecom equipment effectively, the corporation has opened various offices spread evenly across the country.

Puncom is probably the only Indian telecom company which can boast of virtually NIL debts since 1995. The net worth of the company has grown steadily to a level of about Rs 182 crores. It has one of the highest book value of Rs 113 per share. (KNN/ST)
