New Delhi, Dec 7 (KNN) To facilitate and boost the industry in Punjab, the state government has implemented an industry friendly policy offering a wide range of facilities, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh said.

The minister made the statement at the inaugural of the 13th edition of PITEX 2018.

The PITEX 2018 was organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, held in Amritsar.

This event helps open up new avenues of networking and scaling up of business in Punjab.

Appealing the industrialists of Punjab, Punjab Food Processing Minister Om Parkash Soni asked them to play an important role in Punjab's development.

The state government is committed to extend every possible help to the industrialists, claimed Soni in his inaugural address to industrialists of various countries participating in the expo. 

Strength of a state depends upon the growth of its industrial sector, he said.

Flourishing industrial sector helps strength the socio-economic sectors of a state besides proving numerous job avenues to the unemployed youth, he added.

President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajeev Talwar, announced all cooperation to the projects to be undertaken for industrial development by the Punjab government.

The Chamber has always played an important role in the industrial development and has always acted as a bridge between the government and industrialists, he said.

Those present on the occasion include District Deputy Commissioner Kamldeep Singh Sangha, Dr. Ranjit Mehta, Principal Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce, D.K Aggarwal, senior vice president, Sanjay Aggarwal , vice president, R.S Sachdeva, chairman of the Punjab chapter of the Chamber, Karan Gilhotra, Co-Chairman, and many others.
