Punjab Govt promises to gratify industry miffed with Budget through upcoming Industrial Policy

Ludhiana, July 4 (KNN) In an effort to pacify the industrialists of Punjab who expressed disappointment from the AAP led government’s state budget have been assured that the state government will try their best to consider their demands and address their issues in the new Industrial Policy.

Addressing an interactive session with stakeholders last week, Sibin C, IAS, Director, Industries & Commerce, Punjab said, “The department will surely try to address the concerns and demands form Industrial stakeholders while framing draft of new Industrial Policy.”

He highlighted several new and improved initiatives which taken through Invest Punjab and said that the department has tried to address the difficulties phased by existing and new Industries.

The session was organised by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) on framing New Industrial Policy with Department of Industries & Commerce, Punjab.

Welcoming the government officials, S. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President CICU said that the industry is in a dire need of overhauling and a futuristic Industrial Policy which will pave the road head.

He thanked the Department of Industries & Commerce for their initiative to interact with stakeholders for drafting Industrial Policy keeping in view the expectations and suggestions given by Industrial Experts.

Validating the concerns of the industrial fraternity Surabhi Malik, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana said that the administration is working in coordination with industrial representative to find solutions to the concern raised.  (KNN Bureau)
