Punjab govt to launch special scheme for SMEs and focus on skill development, uplifting clusters

Ludhiana, Sept 19 (KNN) The Punjab Government is set to launch a Rs 1,100 crore special scheme for small and medium enterprises with the Centre's sharing in the outlay, according to the Punjab Industry Minister Madan Mohan Mittal.
 
On the side-lines of an event organized in Muktsar, Mittal said that the state government is committed to enhancing technical education facilities in the state to make skilled man power available to the industry, according to a media report. 


The minister further said that the state government would also make efforts to uplift the traditional industrial clusters of steel at Mandi Gobindgarh, hosiery at Ludhiana and sports goods at Jalandhar. (KNN/SD)
