Punjab industry representatives meet newly appointed power chief engineer to raise power related concerns

New Delhi, May 30 (KNN) Raising concerns over high power tariff rate in Punjab, Federation of Industrial & Commercial organization (FICO) met newly appointed Chief Engineer Sanjeev Kumar, Central Zone Ludhiana Division, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. 

A delegation led by Gurmeet Singh Kular, President FICO said that the Punjab industries are facing tough times because of high power tariff rates.

The delegation said the government had announced the maximum overall rate of Rs 6.80 per unit until March 31, 2018.

“The industry is being charged between Rs 10 to Rs 17 per unit, which is a disaster for the industry of the Punjab, as Punjab is the costliest state in terms of power for Micro & Small Industry”, they said.

They also raised the issue of unscheduled power cuts in front of him and said it should be stopped.
