New Delhi, Jan 22 (KNN) The Finance Ministry has been approached by Amritsar based traders to ask for financial support needed for the state to progress. 

The Union Budget is followed by state level elections. Punjab is the hub of agro-trade and business along with strong foothold on manufacturing and production. 

Expressing the condition of MSME sector due to the third wave of covid, Samir Jain, Secretary of the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) called for a rightfully deserved relief package from the Union Budget.

In this he included sectors such tourism, retail, wholesale trade, real estate and manufacturing.

He also put forward the difference in taxation, wherein small companies run under partnership are taxed at 30 per cent and big companies are taxed 22 per cent, hence demanding partnership companies to be extended a rebate on tax.

Goods such as textile, imitation jewellery etc are also largely manufactured in the state and the setback of GST has been an issue which most of the businesses are trying to come out of, and hence are looking forward to the union budget.
