Punjab MSMEs need to focus on product quality, elimination of waste and professionalism to face global competition: Expert

New Delhi, June 25 (KNN) Sachit Jain Managing Director of Vardhman Special Steels Limited, Ludhiana urged industrialists of Punjab that they should educate themselves by visiting global markets, international exhibitions in order to focus on product quality, elimination of waste and professionalism.

He was speaking at a panel discussion on “Key Challenges of SMEs” that was held on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that SMEs have been facing numerous challenges including capability, market access, lack of funds, new technologies, HR related issues, payments etc.

Stressing on the need for upliftment of industry in terms of lean implementation, Upkar Singh Ahuja, Managing Director, New Swan Multitech Limited and president Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertaking (CICU) said that this will lead to better value addition for the industrialists and growth of the MSMEs in state.

He said it is important to sustain the present business as in today’s scenario of global competition achieving excellence in business has become tough and important too.

Neeraj Arora, Assistant Director MSME-DI said the government had launched an MSME mobile app, in which one can get new updates of the Ministry, guidelines and also fill Udyog Aadhar for online.

The program was attended by more than 150 businessmen and participants coming from various industries, including auto components, hardware, garments and textiles, bicycle components, agriculture machinery, horticulture equipments, machine tools etc.
