Chandigarh, May 27 (KNN) With an intention to professionalise the technical education in the state ,the Punjab government will be availing services of a management agency for conducting aptitude tests for admissions  to industrial training institutes.

The agency should be in the field of training research and placement for the last two years. It should have well trained staff having good experience of aptitude testing and career counselling as per the eligibility set by the Department of Technical Education and Training.

Apart from this, the agency should have experience in training research including placement and carrier counselling.

The department is running 49 different streams for both engineering and non-engineering courses run in 112 government industrial training institutes and 264 private ITIs running in the state.

The standard of ITIs in most of the states is considered to be far from satisfactory. The industry has been facing skill shortages in a number of disciplines and trades.

The successful candidates will be likewise guided about their preference for various streams and trade. (KNN)
