Chandigarh, Oct 26 (KNN) The Punjab government has notified the setting up of 26 industrial advisory commissions for holistic industrial growth in the state.

Each panel will be headed by a “renowned person” from the relevant industrial sector and would hold rank equivalent to a cabinet minister, reported TOI.

As per reports, the ‘Invest Punjab’ team had already shortlisted names from the industry and taken their consent and the list is likely to be unveiled soon. 

The industrial commissions would also have representatives of the industry who will be nominated by the state government.

Speaking about the government’s move, Rakesh Thukral, president, Punjab Food Processing Association, cautioned that the state government should nominate experienced people from the industry who can contribute to resolving the long-pending issues to help give impetus to each sector.
