Punjab industry exploring investment opportunities in UP
Lucknow, Dec 23 (KNN) More than 50 industrialists from Punjab, met with UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and committed investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore in the state, according to a report in the Print.
This comes at a time when Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is on a tour to south India seeking investment for Punjab.
A press statement issued by Adityanath’s office on Wednesday stated that a meeting of industrialists had been organised by the Atal Purvanchal Industrial Development Council. During the meeting, Punjab’s Avon Group proposed investment of Rs 500 crore in UP, while Hero Group from the state proposed an investment of Rs 350 crore.
Talking to The Print, T.R. Mishra who led the delegation said that hat more than 50 industrialists from the council had decided to invest in UP, and the majority of them were from Punjab.
Speaking about the proposals presented to the chief minister, Misha said that investment proposals of more than Rs 2 lakh crore were given by industrialists from different states, and Punjab’s bicycle, auto parts, dyeing and boiler industry also expressed interest to invest in UP.
“By 31 March, 2023, we are committed to invest a total of Rs 5 lakh crore in UP,” he said.
Pankaj Munjal, Chairman-cum-MD, Hero Group of Companies, S P Saini, an auto parts manufacturer, Shatrughan Tiwari of Ludhiana-based Shiva Fabrics, a representative from Nahar Group of Industries and others had gone to meet the UP CM, Mishra pointed out.
