Punjab Rice Milling Industry Urges Govt To Grant Permission To Set Up Solar Power Plants

Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 21 (KNN) The Punjab Rice Millers’ Association in a meeting with chief minister Bhagwant Mann urged him to allow the rice milling industry to set up solar power plants.

Addressing the media, Tarsem Saini, president of the association informed that the CM has asked them to bring a proposal in this regard and assured to grant permission.

A delegation of the Punjab Rice Millers met with the CM to handover a cheque for Rs 15 lakh for flood relief fund, reported The Tribune.

According to sources, CM Mann conveyed to the delegation during the meeting that the state government plans to engage with industrial associations in order to streamline the procedure for obtaining NOC and licenses.

At the meeting, Saini expressed admiration for the state government's Custom Milling Policy, noting that it facilitated timely completion of rice custom milling by millers for the very first time.

Surjit Singh Sahi, president, Rice Millers’ Association, Sirhind, Ankur Gupta, president, Jagraon Rice Millers’ Association, Narinder Garg, president of the Sangrur association, and Sanjay, president of the Ropar association, were part of the delegation.  (KNN Bureau)
