Railway Stations across UP to sell ODOP products

Lucknow, Aug 1 (KNN) Railway stations in every district of Uttar Pradesh will showcase and market items listed under the 'One District One Product' (ODOP) scheme.

This scheme will be known as the 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) which was mentioned in the 2022-2023 Union Budget.

The project has been discussed by Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME with the concerned railway officials.

The MSME department will prepare the list of vendors and their rotation and bear the rent of Rs 1,000 for 15 days.

ODOP products of a particular district would be marketed at all railway stations in that district acting as a promotional hubs, said a state government spokesman.

After success of the pilot OSOP project in Varanasi and Pratapgarh railway stations the OSOP scheme has been decided to implement across all Railway stations of the State.

Explaining the scheme, the official said, “If a train is passing through Ayodhya, then all the railway stations falling in this district will showcase jaggery, the ODOP of this district.”

The ODOP scheme was launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in January 2018 to promote indigenous products of 75 districts at national and international platforms.  (KNN Bureau)
