Rajasthan signs 9 MoUs to develop natural gas infrastructure

Jaipur, Sept 10 (KNN) Government of Rajasthan on Wednesday signed nine memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with public and private sector oil and gas companies for natural gas infrastructure development in the state.

Rajasthan produces about 24% of national oil production and 3% of national gas production.

Regarding their existing and future activities in the state, another MoUs are signed by four PSUs (IOC, ONGC, OIL and GAIL).

Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan were present at the event.

He assured that all issues regarding the petroleum refinery (that is proposed to be set up in Barmer, Rajasthan but is languishing for long) will be resolved at an early date so that the refinery sees the light of the day.

Pradhan also co-chaired a meeting with state Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindhia where various oil and gas issues including exploration and production, marketing, pipeline and refining were discussed. It was agreed to introduce various measures of ease of doing business to give a boost to this sector.

He was accompanied by Additional Secretary (Exploration), Joint Secretary (Refinery), Joint Secretary (Marketing/Gas), CMDs of ONGC, GAIL, HPCL, EIL and senior officials from IOCL, BPCL and DGH. Chief Secretary of Rajasthan and senior officials attended the meetings. (KNN Bureau)
