PM Modi to flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train tomorrow

New Delhi, Apr 11 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train on April 12 via video conferencing.

The train will begin operations on April 13 and it will cover function between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt with stops at Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurgaon.

As per reports, the train will be the world's first semi-high-speed passenger train on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) territory. It will cover the distance between Delhi Cantt and Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes.

The union government through this train aims to enhance connectivity to provide a boost to socio-economic development in the region. It will also benefit the local economy by facilitating the movement of goods and services, creating new business opportunities, and generating employment.

The Vande Bharat Express is a shining example of India's prowess in indigenous manufacturing. The train has been designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, showcasing the country's technological capabilities and expertise in the rail industry.

The train boasts state-of-the-art features, including aerodynamic coaches, automatic doors with retractable footsteps, on-board Wi-Fi, a GPS-based passenger information system, and CCTV cameras for enhanced security. The interiors of the train are designed for maximum comfort and convenience, with comfortable seating, ample legroom, and modern amenities for passengers.

Apart from its speed and modern features, the Vande Bharat Express is also an eco-friendly mode of transportation. The train is powered by electric traction, reducing its carbon footprint and contributing to a greener and more sustainable transportation system.  (KNN Bureau)
