New Delhi, May 20 (KNN) To avoid inconvenience to the tax payers the Reserve Bank of India has authorised select branches of banks including Allahabad Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and ICICI to accept payments of Income Tax dues in Mumbai during the peak tax collection month in June .

For the convenience of the customers these banks are also providing facilities for on-line payment of taxes.

The move comes amidst banks inability to cope with the pressure of receipts during the month of June when rush for filing return is high. Despite additional counters for the purpose the tax payers have to wait for longer hours in the queues.

RBI has also asked the tax payers to avoid last minute rush by remitting their income tax dues sufficiently in advance of the due date. (KNN)
