RBI holds town hall meeting for MSMEs in Jammu, assures credit facilitation

New Delhi, Jan 6 (KNN) Eyeing at hand holding the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the region, the Reserve Bank of India recently held a periodic Town Hall meeting for the MSME entrepreneurs in Katra region of Jammu.

The prime focus of the event was to equip the MSME entrepreneurs regarding the various layers and procedures of financing available to the sector. The Town Hall meeting further intended to encourage the MSMEs opt for formal sources of financing.

Officials from the reserve bank including Thomas Mathew, Regional Director, RBI, were present during the meeting.

Also an interactive session was organized during the meet in which the MSMEs raised different queries to which the central bank officials responded.

Over 150 entrepreneurs along with bankers and other district officials participated in the meeting.

Speaking at the event, A.K Mattu, General Manager at RBI said that the government as well as the Reserve Bank recognizes the potential that the MSMEs of the state posses both in terms of their contribution to the economy as well as towards employment generation.

Mattu said that the bank is committed to handhold the MSMEs and the event comes as a step towards the direction. (KNN/DA)
