Residential Townships for workers to come up in industrial estates in Telangana

Hyderabad, May 3 (KNN) The Telangana Government has decided to build townships for the accomodation of workers' in the parts of industrial corridor.

In a first, a plan of action has been prepared by Telangana State.

During a meeting with the industry representatives, Chief Minister k. Chandrasekhar Rao had discussed, agreed and also given instructions to the officials to execute the plan.

According to the sources, State Industrial Primary Facilities Organizations are preparing plan of action.

"Before the foundation of Telangana state, there were only 147 industrial estates in 28 thousand acres of land, but there were no townships.

There are no houses near industrial estates for the workers here. At the same time there are no travel facilities for industrial estates, this is a big problem," according to some local workers and industrialists.

So some of the workers are travelling from different locations or have taken houses for rental basis. These are the main reasons for the scarcity of human resources, they added.

Now the townships to be develiped for the workers will be in uniform in construction across Telangana.

After the construction of the townships, they will be allotted on rental basis and later it will be sold to the workers who show interest in buying them.

They will be sold to the respective workers on subsidised prices in the respective industrial estates. (KNN/ Sujatha Kambham)
