Revenue deficit grant of Rs 7,183 cr released to 14 states

New Delhi, May 7 (KNN) A revenue deficit grant of Rs 7,183.42 crore has been released by the union government to 14 states including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Punjab, Assam and Kerala.

The Finance Ministry has said that the grant has been released as per the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission.

During 2022-23 the post devolution revenue deficit grant have been recommended to Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The recommended grant will be released by the Department of Expenditure to the recommended states in 12 equated monthly instalments. 

The total amount of Revenue Deficit Grants released to the States in 2022-23 has gone up to Rs 14,366.84 crore with this release.
