Right-to-Service in Haryana enthuse MSMEs

Haryana, Sept 11 (KNN) With more and more services being added in the ambit of 'Right to Service', the entrepreneurs in Haryana are getting warmed up to the prospects of timely delivery of services by the State Government departments.

The Chairman of Haryana Right To Service Commission, T.C. Gupta informed during a meeting with entrepreneurs from Sonipat's Rai Industrial Area that the Commission under Section 17 of the Act could take Suo Moto notice of failure to deliver services.

"The Commission is empowered to carry out inspections of offices entrusted with the delivery of the Services and recommend departmental action against the erring officers and can also impose penalty upto a sum of Rs.20,000/- and can also allow compensation up to Rs. 5,000/-, to be paid to the eligible person by the defaulter", he said. 

The meeting was held at as the District HQs where he gave a target to achieve 95% timelines to the District Administrative officials.

The Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014 was enacted to ensure time bound delivery of services by various government departments and to promote transparency and accountability. 

While initially 163 services were covered under the Act in 2015, its ambit has been expanded as on 06th August 2021, 546 services stood notified including the services provided by HSIIDC, Police Department, RTO, Health Services Fire NOC's, UHBVN, DTP among others.

Welcoming the move Rakesh Chhabra President of Rai Industries Association, Sonipat  and Vice President of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) hoped that 'in the coming time it could change the way of working of District Officers'.

He updated Commission about delays in getting the Fire NOCs and to also increase the validity of the NoC to 3 years minimum.

He also raised the issue of bad condition of connecting roads to Delhi.
