Saykha GIDC units penalised for Corporation’s failure to provide basic facilities

Bharuch, June 8 (KNN) Plot allotted to MSMEs at Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) industrial estate at Saykha in Bharuch district have received non-utilisation notices which the companies claim is due to delay in the establishment of common facilities by GIDC.

Speaking exclusively with KNN India, Prashant Patel, Senior Vice President of the Saykha Industries Association, said, “The approach road leading to the GIDC industrial estate at Saykha is not in a good condition which makes its unsafe for tankers carrying chemicals. The industrial estate is surrounded by villages and a mishap must be avoided at all cost for which GIDC needs to provide the common facilities.”

Patel who also serves as the President of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), said, “To develop the industrial estate as a chemical cluster they are sending notices to units who have not utilised the plots.”

He pointed out that the main reason for non-utilisation is the absence of basic infrastructure and facilities.

A representation was submitted to GIDC and requesting them to not penalize these MSME companies or take back their plots because the delay was caused by the absence of common facilities.  (KNN Bureau)
