Chennai, May 29 (KNN) The State Bank of India (SBI) today has invited bids for supply of coin vending machines (CVM) for currency chest branches and other locations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

“State Bank of India invites application for supply of coin vending machines to our branches and other locations spread all over geographical area of Chennai circle in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry,” said an Assistant General Manager in a notification.

The machine should be compact and exclusively designed for dispensing Indian coins and should be able to dispense coins of any denomination with diameter between 19 mm and 32 mm thickness to 3.2 mm thickness.

Further, it should have a dispensing speed of four coins per second or more.

The SBI offers an opportunity for companies, suppliers and manufacturers of such machines who have been in the business of banking mechanization equipment. It will be good if the company has maintenance and after sales service network in the two states.

Meanwhile, to ensure there are enough coins circulating in the country, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), is encouraging banks to install coin vending machines.

It has also instructed banks to exchange soiled currency notes with coins.

Moreover, CVMs should have the standard security features like three mm steel cabinet, drill resistant tubular security locks, door open alarm, multiple point security lock for note stacker etc.

It should be embedded with anti-burglary door open acoustic alarm. (KNN)
