Seafood industrial park coming up on 100 acres at Sakkarakottai, Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, July 3 (KNN) In a bid to attract investment in the sea food industries in the state, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) is setting up an industrial estate for seafood industries at Sakkarakottai.

This was revealed by  Collector S. Natarajan during an event organized by District Industries Centre (DIC), Tamil Nadu.

He said that the industrial estate will come up over 100 acres of land and for that SIDCO has already commenced infrastructure development works.

“The industrial estate would come up with all infrastructures for seafood industries to help them set up their units and start work. It would be a boon for the district as it stood second in the State in fish production. It would also largely benefit the fishermen in the district,” the Collector said.

The establishment of seafood industries was a long pending demand of fishermen, with this initiative of government fishermen could get better price for the catch in the state.
