SEED partners with Sri Sri trust to upgrade skill programs in Assam

Guwahati, July 22 (KNN) Assam’s skill, employment & entrepreneurship department (SEED) has signed an agreement with Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDPT) to upgrade skill programs in the state.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department (SEED) Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah at the Janata Bhawan on Thursday.

As per reports, the trust will be responsible for equipment procurement as required for setting up and upgrading training laboratories, posters and tool kit for laboratories/workshops.

It will also be responsible for conducting training programmes for trainers appointed by ITI and also provide support for trained candidates to get employment.

While on the other hand, the state government will be responsible for providing one officer as Single Point of Contact for all coordination and assistance needed by SSRDPT.

Earlier, this week Baruah  held a discussion with skill training providers under the Assam Skill Development Mission. He laid emphasis on providing training to the youth keeping their local needs in mind.  (KNN Bureau)
