Shilpangan to boost handicraft market

New Delhi, Feb 24 (KNN)  In an effort to bring craftsmanship directly to the people and provide marketing support to the artisans of Rajasthan, the Rural Non Farm Development Agency (RUDA), has organised an exhibition cum sale here today.

Shilpangan which will showcase a unique collection on handicrafts from Rajasthan will be held from February 24 to 28, 2014. 

The five-day event will exhibit a variety of handicraft products like bagru hand block print, barmer embroidery work, kota doria sarees, jahota kantha, tie and dye, razai and bagru hand block bedsheets.

It will also feature other craft works such as sanganeri print, lac bangles, mojaris, thewa art, bandhej, leather products, gold work on marble, blue pottery and phad paintings.

The various forms of the Rajasthan handicrafts have been fascinating people around the world for centuries. The magical touch of the artisans transforms the raw material into artistic marvel beyond imagination. (KNN/ST)
