SIDBI inks MoU with Meghalaya govt for MSME ecosystem to grow

Shillong, Mar 25 (KNN) To ensure a holistic development of MSME ecosystem in Meghalaya, the Meghalaya Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation Ltd. [MiDFC] has partnered with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Entrepreneurship Development in the State, Development of MSME clusters, Capacity building of NGOs/ development organisations/ MSMEs are some of the objectives.

It also aims to support and showcase replicable livelihood projects aligned to the priority identified by State.

Expanding the digital offerings for MSMEs in the state, Mapping State specific livelihood opportunities through expert consultants will be looked into through this pact. 

They will also work on extension of Promotion and Developmental initiatives of SIDBI in the State. 

Capacity of MSMEs will be built using online platforms PSB 59, Mitra portals, GeMS, TReDS etc. 

V Satya Venkata Rao, DMD, SIDBI said that we are supporting the setting up of Swavalamban Alternate Livelihood Unit for The EAST (SALUTE) at Ramakrishna Mission Ashram [RKMS], Sohra [Meghalaya] to run vocational courses on weaving, tailoring, fashion designing, knitting, embroidery, product development etc. 

“This will provide alternate livelihood opportunities to the drop out students, women and tribals from the North-Eastern States,” he added. 

Dr Vijay Kumar, Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and CEO, MiDFC recognised the signing of MoU shall as a step towards supporting the efforts of the State for development of MSME Ecosystem. (KNN Bureau)
