SIDBI plans Swavalamban Mela for Gujarati Artisans in Ahmedabad from 16-20 Dec

Ahmedabad, 15 Dec (KNN) The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) will be organising the Swavalamban Mela in Ahmedabad from 16th to 20th December, 2021 where artisans and entrepreneurs from across the state will showcase their handicrafts and products.

Since last 2 years each regional office organises swavalamban mela, and this year the Ahmedabad office is hosting it in celebration with azaadi ka amrit mahotsav.

“Our objective is to create a platform which will enable MSMEs and entrepreneurs in promoting their products. This exhibition will also help them connect with various stakeholders to maximize their sales,” a senior official of SIDBI Ahmedabad told KNN.

MSME Commissioner of Gujarat Government, Ranjeeth Kumar, IAS will be the chief guest and inaugurate the 5 daylong event tomorrow.

There will be almost 70 stalls by artisans and entrepreneurs from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Morbi, Bhavnagar, Patan, Rajkot, Odhav, Junagadh, Gandhinagar and from many other places in the state, added the senior regional official.

The entry is free and the footfall and sales is expected to rise.

SIDBI will be keeping a track on daily sales, while offering special vouchers to the best artisans.

A formal invite has also been sent to the Regional Director of RBI and GM of NABARD.

SIDBI Swavalamban Mela will take place in Ahmedabad Haat, Vastrapur from 11am to 9pm.
