Sigh of relief for industrialists in Andhra Pradesh as government promises no increase in electricity tariffs

New Delhi, May 2 (KNN) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured the industry that his government will not increase the electricity tariff for them and would also provide housing facility to all the industry workers.

Addressing at the May Day celebration at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Naidu directed his officials to prepare an action plan related to this as government is ready to provide land for this purpose.

He urged the industrialists to come forward in fulfilling this dream.

On bridging the skill gap, the CM said it is necessary to integrate academic institutions with industry to improve the skills of students.

He asked the industrialists to adopt nearby ITIs in a bid to modernize the students with the current needs of industrial sector.

The state government had spent nearly Rs 1,140 crore towards Chandranna Bima scheme to provide financial assistance to the family members of deceased employees, he added.

On sharing the journey of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said that AP is the first state in India to bring ease of doing business in the state and with the prevailing industry-friendly environment.

He further pointed out that during the last three Partnership Summits, 2,785 MoUs worth of Rs 16 lakh crore were signed and 1,496 more MoUs are in an advanced stage. 

The Chief Minister assured the industrialists that water facility would be provided by completing the ongoing irrigation projects. He said the industrialists should provide work for everyone in the State to establish a peaceful society.

On improving the welfare of employees, he directed the officials to strictly set minimum wages for all the workers in next three months as 2.5 crore people are working in unorganized sector.

Further, he advised the industrialist to use technology and upgrade the skills of employees to improve production.

The State government has been implementing several measures for the welfare of the employees, said Pithani Satyanarayana, Minister for Labour and Employment. (KNN/YV)
