Single window system in Punjab to help attract investment for MSMEs: Sidhu

New Delhi, Mar 3 (KNN) In a bid to woo the sector, Punjab Minister for Local Government, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Navjot Singh Sidhu said ‘single-window’ clearance system provided by the state government is to ease investments for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Minister made the remarks during an ASSOCHAM event.

Sidhu further said that sectors including services, manufacturing, defence, tourism and small scale industries that are labour intensive can take benefit of the single window clearance system and help generate jobs.

The Minister said that the government is ready to work with industry bodies and chambers and look into bottlenecks that are preventing the flow of investment.

“The government is ready to facilitate industry body ASSOCHAM and anyone who wants to invest in Punjab”, Sidhu said.

Highlighting the potential of the different industries, Sidhu said that there is immense potential in sectors including tourism, small and medium enterprises, food processing, aerospace, defence and technical textiles.

He further said it is important to harness the maximum potential out of these sectors. (With Inputs from a media report) (KNN/DA)
