Six new incubations centres to be set up Karnataka

Bengaluru, Mar 9 (KNN) The Ministry for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will be establishing 6 additional incubation centres in the state of Karnataka, for boosting the MSMEs of the state. This was announced the Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra on Sunday.
 
He informed that Karnataka currently has four such incubations centres, and to encourage individuals to set up new small and medium industries more such centres will be coming up in cities where there is more of industrial activity.
 
Mishra said, his ministry will be establishing 500 such incubation centres across the country which would provide support functions, mentorship and resources to individual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial setups.
 
"Our government is giving impetus on skill development along with the setting up of incubation centres," he added.
 
The minister emphasized on the procurement policy as well, which mandates all Central government PSUS to procure 20 per cent of their annual requirement from SMEs.
 
Mishra was in the city of Bengaluru as chief guest at a seminar on women empowerment ‘Matching minds aspiring change’ organised by the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) where he also supported the idea of celebrating a 'MSME Day. (KNN/VV)
