Skill development programme for food processing underway in Tuli, Nagaland

Tuli, Sept 27 (KNN) A 15-day Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDP) on food processing organised by the Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) is underway at Aitlenden Community Hall Tuli, Mokokchung.

The skill development training is being sponsored by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Samuel Therieh, Program Officer, Life Ministry Learning Centre Dimapur inaugurated the event on September 26 in the presence of S Amarjit Mangang, DDM NABARD, Temsunungsang Aitlenden Ward Chairman and Subonenba Longkumer, Director CECS. 

While addressing the event, Samuel Therieh encouraged the SHG members to grab the training opportunity for experiencing and learning new skills which would later help them to generate sustainable income.

After the inaugural, introduction to food processing and the usage of right preservation was conducted by Alemla Samuel, LMLC as a resource person.

S Amarjit Mangang, DDM NABARD lay stress on the importance of MEDP in enhancing and upgrading existing skills and new skills for the SHGs member and also stated that the training will help the SHGs in the aspects of overall management of micro enterprise.

Around 30 SHGs members attended the meeting.  (KNN Bureau)
